Its ability to penetrate means it has more profound effects and its results tend to last longer. While this might sound painful, we take steps to reduce your discomfort. This includes applying a topical anesthetic or, when needed, using oral or IV sedation.
Directly after your treatment, healing compresses and ointments are used to help your skin recover quicker. After a short while, you will be released with aftercare instruction and can return home.
Laser Skin Resurfacing Recovery
Recovery from laser skin treatment is not typically difficult. However, it can take anywhere from 3 days to 3 weeks. While healing times vary between patients, they tend to correlate with the size of the area treated and how deep the laser penetrated. Anticipate skin in the treated area to be very red for a while and possibly oozy and for scabs to form.

There is no set price for laser skin resurfacing. The cost will depend on everything from the size of the treated area to how deep the laser needs to penetrate and if sedation is needed. We ask that you do the following:
- Avoid exposure to UV rays, including tanning beds, for at least four weeks before your procedure
- During that time, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily

- Stop using all medications that cause photosensitivity for 72 hours before the procedure
