After you are fully healed from your BBL surgery, you will want to do whatever it takes to maintain or even enhance your results. From taking care of your skin to wearing the right clothes, there is a lot that you can do to make your bottom look its best. But what about exercise?
Will Squats Ruin a BBL?
This is an interesting question. With most surgeries, it is automatically assumed that exercising, once recovered enough to do so, is important. But a BBL relies on fat transfer, and exercise burns fat. It also builds muscle, and the fat placement during a BBL is strategic and based on the shape of the muscles at the time of surgery.
Does this mean that the squat challenge you’ve been considering will ruin your surgery?
Luckily, this answer is no. When fat is removed via liposuction and then transferred to the buttocks, it is similar to a skin graft. Just like grafted skin won’t dissolve away, neither will the majority of transferred fat. Whatever fat takes — usually about 60% of what is transferred — will establish its blood supply and remain in place long term.Â
Any fat that takes and establishes a blood supply will remain, no matter how much you diet or exercise.
With that said, exercise can shrink those fat cells and build your muscle. Shrinking the fat cells could cause your contours to be not quite as bodacious as they were, but building muscles should combat this. In fact, squats and other exercises could boost your BBL rather than harm it.Â
No matter what, exercise is healthy, and your health is important. So, as soon as you are cleared to do so, start working out after your BBL.
