Is Dermal Fillers Right for You?
Anyone who is experiencing signs of aging that are caused at least in part by lowered facial volume can benefit from dermal fillers. In general, candidates have at least one of the following characteristics:
- Wrinkles on the mid to lower portion of the face
- Shallow facial contours

During Your Dermal Fillers Treatment
All injections services including dermal fillers are performed by Dr. Davis himself. We don’t use nurse injectors or “injection specialists” because often they are only required to attend a weekend course to obtain certification. Many do not have the adequate knowledge of the facial anatomy or surgical perspective to provide optimal results.
Dr. Davis will determine the best spots to apply your dermal fillers during your consultation. The application of dermal fillers is quick. If needed, we can schedule it for your lunch break or right at the end of the workday. We use the smallest needles possible and a topical anesthetic if needed, to help reduce any discomfort, which most clients describe as a slight pinch.
There are many different types of dermal fillers that can be used. Dr. Davis will explain your options to you and help you decide which is best. Options include:

Dermal Filler Recovery
One of the best things about dermal fillers is that there is little to no downtime in terms of recovery. Once the procedure is done, you can return to work, grab the kids from school and return to most of your usual routine.
The exceptions to this are exercise and sun and alcohol exposure. Avoid excessive sweating and alcohol comsumption for the first 24 hours after getting dermal fillers, as this can affect your overall results. You should also avoid sun exposure for a week or two. Dr. Davis will go over these guidelines in further detail at your consultation.
There is the possibility of some redness, bruising and swelling at the injection sites, but this tends to be minimal. You also might feel a bit tender. However, none of this should impact your ability to work or attend to your daily activities.
Dermal Filler Results
Dermal fillers offer quick results. After treatment, you should be able to tell your skin is smoother and plumper. However, due to slight swelling, it may be a few days before you can see your final results.
How long your results last will depend on which dermal filler was used and how your body responds to it. The treatment options we offer can last anywhere from a few months to several years.
Typical durations:
- JUVÉDERM treatments: 9 months to 2 years
- Restylane treatments: 6 to 12 months
- RADIESSE: Up to 1 year
- Revanesse Versa: 9 months to 2 years

The exact cost of dermal fillers will depend on how many units are needed to achieve your desired results. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, cost per syringe can range from $600 to $1000 depending on the type of product used. This does not include costs related to the experience of the doctor, geographical location of the office or the time it will take to administer treatment.

There are many Nashville dermal filler providers. However, not all of them have the experience level that delivers the best results. Look for plastic surgeon that is committed to the nonsurgical side of their practice and takes great pride in the results they deliver.
To minimize the risk of bruising and bleeding, you should avoid consuming alcoholic beverages one full day before your procedure. Medications that can thin the blood should be stopped for two weeks before treatment, including supplements like St. John’s Wort. If you use Retin-A, stop use two days before treatment and do not resume until two days after. And should you develop a cold sore, tell us so we can reschedule.
